28:36 Holy to the Lord. On the turban of Aaron was fastened a plate or diadem. The same object is called a crown (29:6; 39:30; Lev. 8:9) and worn by kings (2 Sam. 1:10; 2 Kin. 11:12; Ps. 89:39). The engraved plate was of pure gold, and identified Aaron as set apart to the Lord and as Israel’s representative.
