18:20–22 Two means of discerning false prophets from true are given in Deuteronomy. The first is theological integrity—a true prophet will not teach error or lead the people astray (v. 20; 13:1–5). The second is that his prophetic predictions of the future would come true (v. 22). See “The Authentication of Scripture” at 2 Cor. 4:6.
