Uri [Ū'rī]—light of jehovah or enlightened. Sometimes this name was used as an abbreviation of Urijah.

1. The father of Bezaleel, the craftsman associated with the building of the Tabernacle (Exod. 31:2; 35:30; 38:22; 1 Chron. 2:20; 2 Chron. 1:5).
2. The Father of Geber, one of Solomon’s taxgatherers (1 Kings 4:19).
3. A porter or gatekeeper who put away his wife (Ezra 10:24).
