Timna, Timnah [Tĭm'nä,Tĭm'nah]—restraining or inaccessible.

  1. A chief of Edom descended from Esau (Gen. 36:40; 1 Chron. 1:51).
  2. A son of Eliphaz, son of Esau (1 Chron. 1:36). Also the name of a concubine of Eliphaz son of Esau (Gen. 36:12), and also of a daughter of Seir the Horite, and sister of Lotan (Gen. 36:22; 1 Chron. 1:39). Timnah is likewise the name of a city in Judah, now called Tibneh (Josh. 15:10, 57; 2 Chron. 28:18).
