Pekah [Pē'kah]—opening of the eyes or watchfulness. Son of Remaliah and a captain under Pekahiah, against whom he conspired in order to reign in his stead. But he reaped as he sowed, for in turn he himself was slain by Hoshea the son of Elah (2 Kings 15:25-37; 16:1, 5; 2 Chron. 28:6; Isa. 7:1).
