Jahath [Jā'hăth]—revival or grasping.

  1. A grandson of Judah descended through Shobal (1 Chron. 4:2).
  2. A son of Libni, a Levite of the family of Gershom (1 Chron. 6:20, 43).
  3. A son of Shimei, a Levite of the family of Gershom (1 Chron. 23:10, 11).
  4. A descendant of Kohath, a son of Levi (1 Chron. 24:22).
  5. A Merarite Levite, an overseer of workmen engaged in the repair of the Temple in Josiah’s reign (2 Chron. 34:12).
