Esar-Haddon [Ĕ’sar-hăd'don]—victorious or ashur hath given brothers. The favorite son of Sennacherib and one of the greatest kings of Assyria, equally eminent as a military leader and a political ruler (2 Kings 19:37; Ezra 4:2; Isa. 37:38).
