Fire From the Lord

11 Now the people complained(A) about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord,(B) and when he heard them his anger was aroused.(C) Then fire from the Lord burned among them(D) and consumed(E) some of the outskirts of the camp.

11 And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

33 But while the meat was still between their teeth(A) and before it could be consumed, the anger(B) of the Lord burned against the people, and he struck them with a severe plague.(C)

35 I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will surely do these things(A) to this whole wicked community, which has banded together against me. They will meet their end in this wilderness; here they will die.(B)

36 So the men Moses had sent(C) to explore the land, who returned and made the whole community grumble(D) against him by spreading a bad report(E) about it— 37 these men who were responsible for spreading the bad report(F) about the land were struck down and died of a plague(G) before the Lord.

35 I the Lord have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.

36 And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,

37 Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the Lord.
