12 They went to Kiriath-jearim in Judah and set up their tents. They called that place Mahaneh-dan to this day. It is west of Kiriath-jearim. 13 They went from there to the hill country of Ephraim and came to the house of Micah.

14 Then the five men who had gone to look over the country of Laish said to their brothers, “Do you know that in these houses there are gods, a holy vest, and objects made to look like gods? So think about what you should do.”

12 On their way they set up camp near Kiriath Jearim(A) in Judah. This is why the place west of Kiriath Jearim is called Mahaneh Dan[a](B) to this day. 13 From there they went on to the hill country of Ephraim and came to Micah’s house.(C)

14 Then the five men who had spied out the land of Laish(D) said to their fellow Danites, “Do you know that one of these houses has an ephod,(E) some household gods and an image overlaid with silver?(F) Now you know what to do.”
