Isaiah 8:14-15

14 He will be a sanctuary;(A)
but for the two houses of Israel,
He will be a stone(B) to stumble over
and a rock to trip over,(C)
and a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 Many will stumble over these;(D)
they will fall and be broken;
they will be snared and captured.
Romans 9:32-33

32 Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works.[a] They stumbled over the stumbling stone.(A) 33 As it is written:
Look! I am putting a stone in Zion to stumble over
and a rock to trip over,
yet the one who believes on Him(B)
will not be put to shame.(C)[b]
