Isaiah 30:6-11
New International Version
6 A prophecy(A) concerning the animals of the Negev:(B)
Through a land of hardship and distress,(C)
of lions(D) and lionesses,
of adders and darting snakes,(E)
the envoys carry their riches on donkeys’(F) backs,
their treasures(G) on the humps of camels,
to that unprofitable nation,
7 to Egypt, whose help is utterly useless.(H)
Therefore I call her
Rahab(I) the Do-Nothing.
8 Go now, write it on a tablet(J) for them,
inscribe it on a scroll,(K)
that for the days to come
it may be an everlasting witness.(L)
9 For these are rebellious(M) people, deceitful(N) children,
children unwilling to listen to the Lord’s instruction.(O)
10 They say to the seers,(P)
“See no more visions(Q)!”
and to the prophets,
“Give us no more visions of what is right!
Tell us pleasant things,(R)
prophesy illusions.(S)
11 Leave this way,(T)
get off this path,
and stop confronting(U) us
with the Holy One(V) of Israel!”
