22 “^[a]If a man steals an ox or a sheep and slaughters it or sells it, he shall pay five oxen for the ox and ^(A)four sheep for the sheep.

² “^[b]If the ^(B)thief is ^[c]caught while breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there will be no bloodguiltiness on his account. ³ But if the sun has risen on him, there will be bloodguiltiness on his account. He shall surely make restitution; if he owns nothing, then he shall be ^(C)sold for his theft. ⁴ If what he stole is actually found alive in his ^[d]possession, whether an ox or a donkey or a sheep, ^(D)he shall pay double.

⁴ then it shall be, when he sins and becomes guilty, that he shall ^(A)restore what he took by robbery or what he got by extortion, or the deposit which was ^[a]entrusted to him or the lost thing which he found, ⁵ or anything about which he swore falsely; ^(B)he shall make restitution for it ^[b]in full and add to it one-fifth more. ^(C)He shall give it to the one to whom it belongs on the day he presents his guilt offering.

⁸ Zaccheus stopped and said to ^(A)the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I ^[a]will give to the poor, and if I have ^(B)defrauded anyone of anything, I ^[b]will give back ^(C)four times as much.”
