²⁸ Yahweh will strike you with madness and with blindness and with bewilderment of heart; ²⁹ and you will ^[a](A)grope at noon, as the blind man gropes in darkness, and you will not succeed in your ways; but you shall only be oppressed and robbed all your days, with none to save you.

¹⁸ And they came down to him, and Elisha prayed to Yahweh and said, “Strike this ^[a]people with blindness, I pray.” So He ^(A)struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

¹¹ Now, behold, ^(A)the hand of the ^[a]Lord is upon you, and you will be blind and not see the sun for a time.” And immediately a mist and a darkness fell upon him, and he went about seeking those who would lead him by the hand.
