4 And they [a]shall grow as among the grass, and as the willows by the rivers of waters.
5 One shall say, I am the Lord’s: another [b]shall be called by the name of Jacob: and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and name himself by the name of Israel.
6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel and his redeemer, the Lord of hosts, [c]I am the first, and I am the last, and without me is there no God.

- Isaiah 44:4 That is, thy children and posterity shall increase wonderfully after their deliverance from Babylon.
- Isaiah 44:5 By this diversity of speech he meaneth one thing, that is, that the people shall be holy, and receive the true religion of God, as Ps. 87:5.
